We here at EndlessPopcorn are huge fans of any dystopian movies as we love seeing all the crazy fictional futures producers manage to bring to life on our screens. 1. Mad Max: Fury Road

Starting off our list of the best dystopian movies we have one that won’t disappoint. The action sequences and incredible chase scenes will pump you full of adrenaline! You should watch all the Mad Max movies if you haven’t, but this one should be prioritized.

Civilization as we know it has come to an end. Years after its collapse, anarchy and chaos ensue. A fortress in a desert imprisons any apocalypse survivors that the tyrant Immortan Joe manages to capture. But when Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron), a warrior, leads a betrayal against the tyrant helping his five wives escape, all hell breaks loose. During the escape, Furiosa forms an alliance with Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) as they try and outrun the army chasing them. They must rely on their knowledge of the wasteland as they make their escape in a fortified truck known as the War Rig.

2. Snowpiercer

Who knew that Chris Evans could pull off a much bloodier and darker role with such ease! The concept of the movie and overall action in it will have your eyes stuck on the screen! If you want to see Chris acting as someone darker than Captain America then give this one a watch.

The Earth has endured a second Ice Age leaving nearly no survivors. Those who did manage to survive now reside on a luxury train on a continuous journey through snow and ice. The train has split up into sections dividing the poor and the rich from one another. However, the poor have become tired of how they are forced to live and have planned to take over the train. They must make a treacherous journey to the engine room in order to improve their way of life.

3. The Matrix

There’s not much explaining to do as to why this movie is on this list! The Matrix is just one of those movies that everyone should be required to watch at some point in their lives! And after you give this one a watch there are two more in the series for you to enjoy!

Neo (Keanu Reeves), lives a secrets nightlife as a hacker. He has come across a word multiple times and begins to question its meaning. He believes that Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), who is supposedly one of the most dangerous men alive can answer his questions regarding the “Matrix”. Neo finds himself in contact with a gorgeous woman named Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) who leads him to the Underworld to meet with Morpheus. Once Neo finds the answers he has been searching for he must come to terms with his new reality. Together they must fight an oncoming barrage of deadly secret agents as Neo begins to learn more and more about his destiny.

4. Logan

The incredible Wolverine movie we all wanted and deserved. If this movie didn’t bring you to tears then you aren’t a true Wolverine fan. There’s literally no way they could have given this man a better ending.

Logan (Hugh Jackman) now spends his days in hiding caring for the sickly Professor X (Patrick Stewart). They reside in an abandoned outpost located on the Mexican border. Logan originally planned to live out the rest of his days in hiding, away from the outside world. But that takes a turn when he comes across a young mutant Laura (Dafne Keen) who has proven to be very similar to him. Now, Logan finds himself in a situation he wanted no part of and must protect this little girl from the killers who are coming after her.

5. Children of Men

A society that begins to die off because having children has become impossible seems like a terrifying world to live in. Just living with the fact that you can’t procreate to keep the human race living would make society crumble. Give this one a go if you haven’t seen it yet.

The human race now faces the brink of extinction. Infertility has plagued the world and it has been 18 entire years since the last birth of a child. The youngest still alive had recently passed away at 18 years old leaving the world in even more disarray than before. But a miracle has emerged as a lone pregnant woman appears. She must travel with the help of Theo Faron to keep her unborn child safe in hopes of saving the human race.

6. The Terminator

An Arnold Schwarzenegger classic! Everyone has to have seen this movie! The movie brought new light to the world of cinema and it will go down as an all-time great in the movie world.

A Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) has been sent into the past from 2029 to 1984 to kill  Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). Skynet, an artificial intelligence system has taken over the world and continues its plot to exterminate humans who survived the nuclear holocaust. Sarah has become a target because Skynet has figured out her unborn child leads a revolution against the machines. Chasing after the Terminator, Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) has been sent back in time to protect Sarah and stop the Terminator.

7. WALL-E

For the last movie on our list of the best dystopian movies, we have to close it off with good ole WALL-E! This little robot will tug at your heartstrings and have you emotionally invested in the adventure he takes across the galaxy!

WALL-E, a small robot also known as Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class is currently the last robot on planet Earth. He lives his life cleaning up the Earth one day at a time. But surprisingly over the course of 700 years, WALL-E has developed a personality that leaves him feeling quite lonely. But all that changes when he finds EVE (Elissa Knight), a robot sent back on a mission to scan the Earth. While desperate for some kind of connection WALL-E finds himself following EVE across the galaxy in one of the most intense adventures he has ever taken on.
