1. The Shinning

If you live on this Earth, then you must have at least heard of this incredible film! The Shinning is one of the best psychological thrillers ever made! It’s an absolute need to watch if you haven’t already! And if you have, then it doesn’t hurt to watch it again!

The Shinning Movie Summary

Jack Torrence (Jack Nicholson) gets a job as a winter caretaker for the Overlook Hotel in Colorado. Jack plans to use the hotels’ peace and solitude to help get over his current writers’ block. He moves his family which includes, Wendy (Shelley Duvall) his wife and his son Danny (Danny Lloyd) up to the hotel for the winter. As time begins to pass, Jack’s writing continues to go nowhere. Jack begins to suffer mental break downs and begins to have intrusive thoughts that get worse as he spends more time in the hotel. Eventually, Jack becomes a homicidal maniac that only has a single goal – to terrorize and kill his family.

2. The Sixth Sense

This movie took us for a whirlwind of a ride! You think that you know what is happening, then ‘BAM’, the movie slaps you across the face and says ‘Oh, no you don’t!’ We don’t want to spoil anything. You’ll just have to watch it yourself!

A young boy named Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) lives with a secret that haunts him every day. Cole can see and communicate with the dead. He never talks about it with anyone, not even his mother, as they would dismiss it as mental health issues. However, Cole may have found someone he can confide in. A psychologist named Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis). Crowe attempts to help Cole find the answers he is looking for to better understand his unwanted supernatural abilities. Consequently, the two discover soon after, that the path they take will lead to answers they both weren’t ready for.

3. The Game

Just like the one above, this movie is just impossible to wrap your head around! When the movie ends, all you’ll be thinking is “WHAT THE F*CK JUST WENT DOWN?!” If you haven’t watched this one, then do yourself a favor and watch it now!

The Game Movie Summary

A man named Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) has made a successful living by being a banker. However, he finds himself ill-content with his life. In an interesting turn of events, his alienated brother Conrad (Sean Penn) makes an appearance on Nicholas’s birthday. He presents his brother with an unusual gift: a game that is personalized and requires the player to participate in real-life. A company called Consumer Recreation Services runs this game. After initially not wanting anything to do with the game, Nicholas reluctantly accepts. The game begins harmlessly. However, it quickly takes a turn for the worse leaving Orton to fear for his life.

4. Searching

This is the most recently released movie on this list, and it was awesome! It makes you wonder if you truly know and understand the people in your life. Especially the ones you believe are close to you. Definitely a recommended watch!

Searching Movie Summary

David Kim’s (John Cho) life takes a turn for the worse when he finds out his daughter Margot (Michelle La) has gone missing. He immediately contacts the police and provides all the information he knows. Soon after, unhappy with the progress police have had, David begins his own investigation. As David digs deeper into his daughter’s life, he begins to realize that he didn’t know who his daughter really was.

5. Shutter Island

If you haven’t seen Shutter Island then you are really missing out! The number of twists in this movie is inconceivable! It’ll definitely have your head spinning off! And it stars Leonardo DiCaprio, so you know it’ll be a great movie.

Shutter Island Movie Summary

A patient at Ashecliffe Hospital, located on Shutter Island and home to the clinically insane, has disappeared. Her name, Rachel Solando (Emily Mortimer), who had murdered her three children. Called to investigate, U.S. Marshals Edward “Teddy” Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his new partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) head to the island. After arriving, a storm leaves them stranded on the island and unable to return to the mainland for a few days. Regardless, they continue their investigation. Daniels and Auel start to realize that things are not how they seem in the hospital. Quickly learning they can’t trust anyone, the two Marshals lives may be endangered.

6. Black Swan

A movie with Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis!? Hell yes! This movie is so weird but in a good way! It will have you questioning just what the heck is going on! It makes you rethink whether what you perceive is the actual reality of things!.

Black Swan Movie Summary

Nina (Natalie Portman), a ballerina consumed by her passion for ballet, has an opportunity for the dual role of the innocent White Swan and the sensual Black Swan in Swan Lake. However, an up and coming ballerina poses a threat. Nina ends up auditioning and performs flawlessly for the White Swan but not performing as well for the Black Swan. Soon after though, to Nina’s surprise, she is notified that she will portray both the roles. However, Nina begin to have hallucinations making her question what is real and what is not.

7. Seven

One of the more gruesome movies on the list is this one! Doesn’t mean it isn’t amazing though! It will keep you on edge the whole time! We can’t say too much because we definitely don’t want to spoil anything for this one!

Seven Movie Summary

Two detectives begin an investigation into a case of a new serial killer. Partnered with David Mills (Brad Pitt), who is new to the city, soon-to-retire detective William Somerset (Morgan Freeman) is in for one last insane case. Each of the killer’s victims represents one of the 7 deadly sins. Unable to close in on the killer, the two detectives begin to play right into his hands.

8. Primal Fear

You guys can’t even begin to understand just how good this movie is! We want to compare it to an incredible film that is more recent, but that’ll give too much away! So you’ll just have to take us for our word and watch it yourself!

A defense attorney named Martin Vail (Richard Gere) jumps at the chance to be in the spotlight. He decides to defend Aaron Stampler (Edward Norton), an altar boy accused of murdering Archbishop Rushman (Stanley Anderson). Vail begins to truly believe that Aaron is innocent. However, Vail soon learns that Aaron has a dark hidden secret even he is unaware of.
