The Shining Filming Locations
Okay, so most of the filming for The Shining took place in England at a studio. As you know, The Shining is set inside an eerie hotel. Film-makers built the interior of the hotel in Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire, England. However, what about the exterior shots of the Overlook Hotel!? Well, producers filmed those scenes in Oregon.
Locations Used In Oregon
So, we know that the producers didn’t use many locations during the production of the movie. But what locations did they use in Oregon?
Well, for the exterior hotel shots, producers usedTimberline Lodge, Mount Hood. The lodge is located in the Hood River area of Northern Oregon.
And that’s it! The only locations that producers used for shooting this film were studio sets and the exterior shots of Timberline Lodge.
