After a mission gone wrong, Marine sniper Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg) decided to disappear into the wind leaving no trace of himself. However, when some government officials manage to find him and ask him for help with a threat against the president, Swagger reluctantly agrees. Early into this new mission, Swagger realizes it’s a setup, and he’s about to go down for it. While he barely manages to escape, Swagger doesn’t want to hide. Instead, he takes it upon himself to go on the hunt for the men who have set him up and will stop at nothing until he has his revenge.

This movie is based on Operation Red Wings, a mission that went terribly wrong in Afghanistan in 2005. If you haven’t seen it give it a watch.

Lone Survivor Movie Description

Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg), Michael Murphy (Taylor Kitsch), Danny Dietz (Emile Hirsch) and Matthew Axelson (Ben Foster), are on a new mission surveilling Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. Not only that but, when the opportunity arises, they must kill him and then disappear. Innocent villagers end up spotting the team but Luttrell makes the decision not to kill them. That decision may cost them all their lives. When one of the villagers notifies the Taliban forces of the team’s location, a massive battle breaks out. Now Luttrell and the team find themselves majorly outgunned and facing violent deaths.

Micky Ward’s (Mark Wahlberg) life revolves around the sport of boxing. His entire family has, in some way, participated in the sport. Micky’s mother works as his manager. Not only that but his coach is also his brother Dicky (Christian Bale) who once had a chance at fame in the boxing world until he ruined it. Though Dicky was a great boxer back in the day, he’s a horrible coach as he is completely unreliable. Micky has worked very hard his entire life to become a successful boxer but only experiences loss after loss. One of Micky’s last fights nearly kills him. In turn, Micky takes his girlfriend’s advice and distances himself from his family. All this until he finally has a shot at a world title and may just make a name for his family.

Mike attempts to save as many of his co-workers as possible while also trying to keep himself alive. They must all work together to find a way out of the flames if they want any chance of surviving.

Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) work desk jobs as detectives at the NYPD and never have a chance to do anything heroic. The two partners have entirely different feelings about their desk jobs. Gamble, on the one hand, is happy with the job but Hoitz, on the other, wants nothing more than to get out there and kick some ass. As usual, the two get handed a very minor case to take care of. However, when this case turns into something large and dangerous, the two detectives may just have their chance to prove to everyone that they can make good field detectives.

The men have attempted to abduct a rich man named Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub) multiple times but have failed miserably. However, when they finally do manage to kidnap him everything changes, and they may just achieve the dreams they have sought their entire life.
