After a seemingly endless 10 years after the 9/11 attack, the search for Bin Laden (Ricky Sekhon) seems to have come to an end. CIA analyst Maya (Jessica Chastain) has one target and one target only. Tasked with finding the al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, Maya is finally closing in on her target once and for all. With newly acquired intelligence about a compound in which Bin Laden supposedly resides in, Maya has no doubt in her mind that he is, in fact, inside the compound. Not long after, Maya relays the information and sends in a Navy Seal Nighttime Strike team. The mission is to invade the compound with orders to capture or kill the most wanted terrorist in the world.

2. 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

Though this movie did cause lots of controversy for being very loosely based and not a very accurate portrayal of real events, it’s still a fantastic film! While it doesn’t show you exactly how things unfolded, it does still hold some truth to it. Regardless, give this film a watch as it has crazy action and will keep you captivated!

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi Movie Description

On Sept. 11, 2012, the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya is under attack from radical Islamic Militants. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens (Matt Letscher) and officer for the Foreign Service Sean Smith (Christopher Dingli) suffer fatal injuries during the attack, leaving them dead. A CIA outpost about 1 mile away from Consulate known as “The Annex” quickly hears of the attack. Members of the GRS team stationed at the Annex go to engage the enemy forces in hopes of saving the remaining Americans.

3. Deepwater Horizon

This film was super intense and will give you major anxiety while watching it! Producers made this one hell of a masterpiece! The film really does transport you to the world of fear and terror that these men experienced while fighting for their lives!

A drilling rig named Deepwater Horizon explodes in a massive spectacle in the Gulf of Mexico. The explosion kills multiple people stationed on the rig in an instant. The few that survive the initial blast, which includes Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg), find themselves trapped by the raging fires and hanging on to dear life as they wait for help. They must all work together if they want any chance of making it back to their families.

Released in 2001 makes this a bit of an older movie, but, this is one we all should watch at some point! Black Hawk Down is without a doubt one of the best war films out there, and if you watch it you’ll understand why!

Using Black Hawk helicopters to lower the teams to the ground with supplies, a surprise attack from Somalian forces catches them by surprise. The enemy forces bring down two Black Hawk Helicopters, leaving a team of U.S. soldiers stranded. The soldiers must now fight against the endless gunfire as they wait for rescue.

5. Hacksaw Ridge

Another beautiful film based on a true story is this one right here. Most of us would never even imagine being as brave as this man. We highly doubt anyone would go to war without any guns or way to defend themselves! If you haven’t seen this movie, go ahead and do yourself a favor and watch it now!

Based on a true story. Pfc. Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield) fought in WWII without firing a single bullet and choosing not to arm himself. Due to his religious and moral beliefs, this is how Desmond will take part in the war. Though he did not take up arms, he earned everyone’s respect and praise while also receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor. Because of his bravery, Desmond managed to save 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa.

6. The Hurt Locker

Some of the bravest men out there have to be those who disable bombs! And this film shows you just how horrible and demanding being a part of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team can be! We highly recommend this film if you haven’t seen it!

Being a U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit in the Iraq War takes a heavy toll. Recently losing their team leader when an improvised explosive device detonated, the EOD squad suffers and grieves the death of their leader. Consisting of three men, the team’s members are Staff Sergeant Matthew Thompson (Guy Pearce), Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty), and Sergeant J. T. Sanborn (Anthony Mackie). After the death of Staff Sergeant Matthew Thompson, Sergeant First Class William James (Jeremy Renner) acts as his replacement. The team quickly takes a disliking to its new leader for some of the qualities he possesses. However, if they want any hope of surviving in Iraq, they must find a way to communicate and work together as a team.

7. Patriots Day

This film is based on the absolutely horrific true story of the Boston Marathon bombing. The film is super heartfelt and shows you the true bravery and heart some people have in situations like these. Give this a watch if you haven’t seen it, we definitely recommend it!

With time running against them, all the brave survivors, first responders, and investigators team up to help with the efforts.
