1. Life

Kicking off the list of space horror movies we have one that may become a reality one day! If we ever do find any form of life on another planet and decide to study it we have not idea the type of consequences that may have. And this movie gives you one of the terrifying possibilities of this.

Onboard the International Space Station astronauts, David (Jake Gyllenhaal), Rory (Ryan Reynolds), and Miranda (Rebecca Ferguson) are about to make a breakthrough in one of the greatest feats of mankind. They believe they have discovered the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on planet Mars. As the crew quickly finds out, the specimen they are studying begins to evolve and adapt at an unprecedented speed. It begins to prove itself more intelligent than the crew first thought and it begins to pose a serious threat to their life and possibly everyone on Earth as well.

2. Alien

One of the movies which started off the space horror movies genre is this one right here. And almost no movie is better than what you get here! Alien brings the terrifying side of the possible outcomes of space travel. This isn’t the only Alien movie in the series either so be prepared to binge!

Halfway back into their journey home, the crew of the commercial starship Nostromo is awakened from their sleep to go and investigate a distress signal near their location. As the crew makes its way into the alien ship, all hell breaks loose when they discover a room full of eggs. When one of the creatures from the eggs leaches onto one of the crew members, everyone’s life just got exceedingly more dangerous.

3. Prometheus

The movie that serves as the prequel to all the Alien movies! It’s a terrifying movie that makes you want to stay away from searching for answers about our creators. If you haven’t seen it then definitely give it a watch.

A discovery has been made which leads two brilliant scientists to journey to the darkest corners of space with a handpicked team. They believe the answers to humanity’s origins lie where they are headed. Shaw (Noomi Rapace) one of the scientists believes and hopes they will encounter benevolent godlike beings or beings which can answer all their questions. While Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) wants to disprove all religions and any possibility of a god. However, once they arrive, none of the crew expected the horrors they were about to face.

4. Europa Report

If we find life in our solar system other than ours we definitely hope that mission goes better than this. If you haven’t seen this one it’s definitely worth a watch.

Europa Report Movie Description

After a mission with a remotely operated probe discovers a possible hidden ocean which may contain single-celled life on one of Jupiter’s moons, everyone is quick to react and plan the next mission. This time, it will be a manned mission. However, once the crew arrives, things quickly begin to go wrong as they find out they may not be alone on this moon.

5. Event Horizon

This is a bit of an older one as well, but it will still manage to freak you out quite a bit. The eeriness of being on a supposedly empty ship that vanished years ago gets the hairs on the back of your neck dancing around.

The Event Horizon spacecraft had vanished years ago. However, years later the craft suddenly reappeared without notice. A crew is sent to investigate the mysterious crafts as soon as word of its reappearance spreads. Bringing the creator of the Event Horizon on the team, William Weir (Sam Neill), the crew of the Lewis and Clark vessel, led by Capt. Miller (Laurence Fishburne) make their way to the seemingly empty craft. Though at first, the craft seems empty, the crew quickly learns that whatever horrors laid waste to the Event Horizon in the first place still reside inside its walls.

6. Pandorum

For the final movie on this list, we have one that will really creep the hell out of you. If you were to wake up in a space ship with no recollection of who you are or what you are supposed to do, how would you react? We’d have no idea what to do!

Pandorum Movie Description

Two astronauts, Payton (Dennis Quaid) and Bower (Ben Foster) have woken up from their sleep chambers with absolutely no recollection of who they are and what their mission is meant to be. Payton decides to listen in of the radio transmitter in hopes of hearing or receiving something, while Bower decides to explore the ship which looks as though it has been abandoned. But the more Bower keeps exploring the faster he realizes they are not alone. Something sinister is on this ship and the two astronauts now have the fate of mankind in their hands.
