In case you didn’t know, there is a second film in the series called Sicario: Day Of The Soldado. We did not add that to the list because it’s a Sicario movie itself. 1. No Country For Old Men

To start off our list of movies like Sicario, we have one that will get that heart of yours racing! If you came across the aftermath of a drug deal gone bad and found millions in cash would you take it? Well, Llewelyn did, and we’re not sure we’d want to go through what he does, even if there are millions of dollars involved! Incredible movie! Definitely worth a watch!

No Country For Old Men Movie Summary

Everything takes a dark turn when a man named Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) stumbles upon the aftermath of a bad drug deal while hunting. While searching the scene, Llewelyn finds multiple dead bodies and a case of cash. Against his better judgment, Llewelyn takes the cash, which totals around 2 million dollars, back to his home.

Later on, Llewelyn decides to go back to the scene of the aftermath and ends up chased by two men in a truck and barely escapes. He rushes home telling his wife to leave and stay with her mother while he hides out in a motel with the cash. A hitman named Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) is now in pursuit of Llewelyn with orders to retrieve the money by any means necessary.

2. The Hurt Locker

This is one hell of a war movie! If you haven’t seen this one, then you are really missing out! If you want a non-stop action-packed film, then this is perfect for you!

A U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit in the Iraq War recently lost their team leader when an improvised explosive device detonated. The team consisted of three men,  Staff Sergeant Matthew Thompson (Guy Pearce), Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty), and Sergeant J. T. Sanborn (Anthony Mackie). Sergeant First Class William James (Jeremy Renner) replaces Thompson after his death. The team takes a disliking to their new leader. However, they must find a way to communicate and work together with any hopes of surviving Iraq.

3. Bridge Of Spies

We have a film based on a true story here! The movie takes you back to the Cold War era. If you want a movie filled with spies and espionage, you really want to go ahead and watch this!

Shot down over the USSR while flying a U-2 spy plane for a secret CIA program, Gary Powers (Austin Stowell) now faces 10 years confinement after his capture. Powers’ only chance of freedom is Insurance lawyer James B. Donovan (Tom Hanks) who is defending a convicted Soviet spy named Rudolf Abel (Mark Rylance). Soon after, Donovan receives a letter which alludes to a prisoner swap. Donavan must now negotiate with the Attorney General of the German Democratic Republic for the exchange of Powers and Abel.

This movie takes a dark and gritty turn as you watch what lengths a father is willing to go to get his daughter back. This movie is utterly gripping, and has some dark twists that will keep you on edge throughout the whole film!

Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) and Franklin Birch (Terrence Howard) take things into their own hands when a police investigation into their daughter’s disappearance appears to go nowhere. Anna (Erin Gerasimovich) and Joy (Kyla-Drew) went missing after a Thanksgiving dinner between the two families. Leading the investigation, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) only has one suspect so far. The suspect’s name is Alex Jones (Paul Dano) who owns an RV which the two girls walked by. Dover, now hellbent on getting his daughter back, kidnaps and tortures Alex in hopes of getting any information he can.

This is another incredible movie about the hunt for one of, if not the worst, terrorists in history; Bin Laden. The movie will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time you’re watching it! It’s hard to say how accurate this movie is due to all the different reports and stories surrounding the operation. Nonetheless, the movie makes for an awesome viewing experience!

Zero Dark Thirty Movie Summary

The search for Bin Laden (Ricky Sekhon) appears to come to an end nearly 10 years after 9/11. Tasked with finding the al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, CIA analyst Maya (Jessica Chastain) is closing in on her target. Zoning in on a compound believed to house Bin Laden, Maya has 100% confidence that he is in the compound. Soon after, a Navy Seal Nighttime Strike team is sent to infiltrate the compound with orders to capture or kill the most wanted man in the world.

Bradley Cooper playing a badass Navy sniper! What more could you want?! In all seriousness though, it really is a fantastic movie! The movie is loosely based on a true story too, which makes it all the better! It does a great job of showing you all the hardships that the people who serve our country face when they return home. Overall, it’s simply a great movie, and we would definitely recommend watching it!

Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) decides to enlist to the Navy. Soon after, he makes qualifications for special training to become a U.S. Navy SEALs sniper. Sent to Iraq after the September 11th bombings, Kyle quickly acquires the nickname “Legend” for all his confirmed kills. When it’s time to go home to his wife Taya (Sienna Miller), Kyle now battles between wanting to go back to war and staying home with his family. Each time he goes back to war, his will to go back home fades. On Kyle’s final tour, the realization of what he really wants finally sets in during battle.

After a few heists, Texas Rangers Marcus Hamilton (Jeff Bridges) and Alberto Parker (Gil Birmingham) begin to track down the brothers. As the Rangers close in, the brothers must now be more careful than ever with their final heist.
