It’s the exact same real-life game concept but instead of it being a funny film it’s a dark and grittier version of it. Also, Game Night is great and all, but it has nothing on this film!

Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) works as a banker and leads a relatively quiet life alone. On his birthday, Conrad (Sean Penn), his estranged brother, comes to him with a strange gift. The ability to take part in a personalized real-life game. Against his better judgment, Nicholas accepts the gift.

At first, the game seems harmless as it begins. However, as Nicholas advances through it, it gets increasingly more personal, leading him to fear for his life. He now has no money, and no one left to trust. All the while he is on the run from agents who work for the unknown game organizers.

They all work together to produce a foolproof plan to finally get rid of their horrible bosses. However, there’s one big problem. None of these men are really that smart, and their plan is highly complex.
