Let’s be real, Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell killed it with Code 8 and obviously countless other people thought so as it was in the top 10 on Netflix for quite some time. It gave you everything you could ever want in a movie that surrounds someone with powers. It had incredible action and a pretty good story as well. It made you wish you had powers too as you watched it, which is what you should be thinking if you are watching a movie like this. If a film can engage you that much then you know you are watching something amazing.
This is what makes movies like Code 8 so incredible and entertaining to watch. Which brings us to why you are here. To kick off our list, we have one that surprised us with how good it was! We weren’t expecting much from this, but it definitely flew way above our expectations and was worth the watch. Not to mention, it also shares a lot of similarities with Code 8.

At only 7 years old, Chloe (Lexy Kolker) constantly lives in fear locked up in her home by her father. She lives everyday curious and fascinated by the outside world. However, the world outside her home treats abnormals like a constant threat. When a stranger shows her a small peak of what the world is really like, she learns that the truth isn’t so black and white, but the dangers are very much a real thing.
Obviously we had to add Logan to this list! He’s on the run and in hiding because he’s a mutant. It’s literally Code 8! And it’s hands down one of our favorite movies ever, and we think it’s one of the best movies ever made! We can’t get enough of it.

Logan (Hugh Jackman) now lives in a remote outpost along the Mexican border, working as a cab driver to care for the dying Professor X (Patrick Stewart). He plans on living out the rest of his life in hiding, away from the outside world. That plan is thrown out the window when he meets Laura (Dafne Keen), a young mutant who shares uncanny similarities with Logan. He must now protect the young girl from the dangerous killers trying to capture her once again.

3. The Darkest Minds
Next up we have a bunch of teens on the run because they have powers and adults fear them! It can’t get much better than that. If you haven’t seen this one it’s definitely worth a watch!

The government has begun to detain and classify young teens as a threat when they unexpectedly start developing powers. Ruby (Amandla Stenberg), is one of the most powerful ones to date. She manages to escape the camp she is held in and joins a group of runaways who are searching for a safe haven. They quickly realize that running is no life for them, and the adults who should have their backs have betrayed them. Now, they must band together and use their powers to form a resistance and take back control of their futures.

4. Color Out of Space
This one is probably the most different out of any other on the list, but it’s still similar enough and is a really fun watch! This is more of a horror sci-fi thriller type movie and you will definitely enjoy it!

Somebody who is different from most of the population. That’s what Divergent gives you and it is kick a*s. Just like Code 8, people fear those who posses something more powerful and different from what they posses.

In the future, society is divided into five different factions. Living in this society is Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley). Once a person reaches adulthood, they must choose their faction and commit to it for the rest of their lives. Tris picked dauntless, the faction which pursues bravery over everything else. But, during her initiation, they discover that Tris is a Divergent and won’t ever be able to fit into only one faction. She learns that she must hide this from everyone as she is considered a threat. During this time she uncovers a secret war raging that may threaten those she loves most.

6. I Am Number Four
Ending our list of movies like Code 8, we have one which we think is underrated for sure! We loved this movie, and it’s often overlooked. It’s one of those movies that makes you feel like a badas* watching it, wishing you were the one with the powers! It’s a very fun movie to watch!
