Castaway Filming Locations

So where was Castaway filmed!? Well, the creators of Castaway decided to film the movie on the beautiful island of Monuriki. However, this isn’t the only place that makes it into the movie. The film also begins and ends on Arrington Ranch. The Ranch is located in the Texas Panhandle which lies south of the city of Canadian, Texas.

Where is Monuriki?

Monuriki lies in a group of islands named the Mamanuca Islands which are part of Fiji. The Fiji islands are located in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean. Monuriki and the other Mamanuca Islands are part of the Mamanuca archipelago. The Mamanuca Archipelago is located off the coast of Viti Levu. Viti Levu happens to be Fijis largest island.

Soon after the production of the film, the island of Monuriki became a huge tourist attraction! You can actually visit it yourself and take part in some incredibly fun excursions!
