They arrest the driver but release him due to not having enough evidence. Unhappy with the progress the cops have made, Dover decides to take things into his own hands and will stop at nothing until he gets his daughter home safely.

2. Se7en

We would never want to hear stories like this in real life. A killer who chooses his victims by using the seven deadly sins and kills them accordingly is absolutely horrifying. It does make for a hell of a movie though.

Detective William Somerset (Morgan Freeman) decides to take on one final case with his new partner David Mills (Brad Pitt) before he retires. After discovering multiple horrifying murders they quickly come to the conclusion that they are dealing with a serial killer. The killer chooses his victims depending on whether he believes they represent one of the seven deadly sins. As the two partners get deeper into the investigation the killer continues to tease and taunt them and even manages to get into the mind of one of the detectives.

3. Primal Fear

Later in life once grown up, John (Ron Eldard) and Tommy (Billy Crudup) end up taking the profession of being hitmen. When one day they come across one of their abusers and decide to kill him. While on trial for that murder, their prosecutor is another member of their gang who happens to work as the assistant DA.

5. Zodiac

Now we arrive at the movie that is inspired by true events. Obviously there are inaccuracies to make the movie more interesting. However, knowing that this serial killer really was out there makes this movie so much more terrifying.

San Francisco is now being terrorized by a serial killer known as Zodiac. Earning his fame from the grizzly murders he has committed and gotten away with. Investigators David and William (Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards) want nothing more than to uncover the identity of the killer and bring him to justice. Along with reporters Robert and Paul (Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr.), they begin the investigation hoping to get some sort of clue as to who the killer is. All the while Zodiac continues to kill and taunt the police as no one is getting closer to uncover the killer’s identity.

6. Gone Baby Gone

Patrick begins to investigate molester Corwin Earle (Matthew Maher) and the Haitian gangster named Cheese (Edi Gathegi). But when something comes up in the neighborhood he has lived in his whole life, he realizes the danger isn’t where he originally thought.
