Time travel exists in the future, but only people who have the money to pay for it on the black market can access it. The mob is a large user of time travel. When they have a target they want to kill, they send them into the past where a hitman known as a Looper waits to finish the job.

Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is one of these Loopers and is quite good at his job. Everything is going well until the day arrives when Joe’s bosses want him to close the loop which includes sending Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for him to kill, which changes everything.

Colter’s job is to discover the identity of the bomber so that they can prevent any similar event from happening in the future. But as Colter continues to delve into the last minutes of Sean’s life, he becomes convinced that he can stop the first bombing from ever occurring as long as he doesn’t run out of time.

It quickly gets off to a rocky start, and it appears it’s just going to be another weekend filled with tension.

Out of nowhere, electromagnetic pulses strike and knock the power out. Ray decides to go investigate what’s going on. He quickly realizes that aliens have begun to attack the Earth and he races back home to protect his children. Now, they must stick together as they try to find refuge from these killer aliens.

Jess (Melissa George) has decided to set sail with a group of friends to escape her stressful life for a while. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when a dangerous storm emerges threatening everyone’s life. The group is forced to board a large passing ship for safety.

Jess believes that the ship looks familiar and as they look around, they realize it’s abandoned and seems utterly empty. But they are not alone. Things become even worse when Phil relives the same day over and over again. This keeps him trapped in the town, and it appears there isn’t an end. Phil can’t find a way to escape this endlessly looping day, so instead, he tries to make the best of it for a change.
