Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), a billionaire genius conducts weapon tests for the contraptions he builds overseas. However, things go sideways when terrorists kidnap him and attempt to force him to build them weapons of mass destruction. Instead, he manages to build an armored suit which helps him overpower his kidnappers and escape. Once he returns to America he decides to refine the suit he built making it exponentially better so that he can use it to fight crime and terrorism.
