Some of the best action movies out there are those which include badass assassins. We always love watching a good assassin movie that keeps us on the edge of our seats with gripping violence and massive explosions.

We have gathered what we believe to be some of the best assassin movies to date, for you. Filled with non-stop action and some of the deadliest assassins you will ever see, you can’t go wrong with watching any of these movies.

1. Collateral

What would you do if you found out that you had been driving an assassin around all night while he killed people!? Well, find out what this taxi driver does. We don’t know what we would do if we ended up in this situation. Give this movie a watch, it’s more than worth it.

Vincent (Tom Cruise) offers Max (Jamie Foxx), a taxi driver, $600 to make 5 stops. Though Max intended to go home and end his day, he agrees to drive Vincent around since the money was good. However, Max is quick to learn that Vincent has a dark secret. Vincent makes his living by being a hitman. At every stop that Max makes, he realizes that Vincent is killing one of his marks. As the number of people that Vincent kills rises, Max’s confidence in living through the night gets lower. Vincent isn’t the only person Max has to worry about. Now, the police and the FBI have started their hunt for the two men.

2. Leon: The Professional

This is probably one of the overall best assassin movies out there! Imagine being twelve and being trained to kill. This movie is fantastic and deserves your time to watch it. We highly recommend it.

Léon (Jean Reno) a trained assassin, may have come upon a job he is not yet ready for. When the family of a 12-year-old girl named Mathilda (Natalie Portman) ends up dead, she goes to Léon, who is her neighbor, for help. Mathilda has experienced and lived through very dark times herself, so she is no stranger to the world of Léon. Mathilda wants Léon to teach her how to kill so she can avenge her family. However, Léon may just be putting Mathilda in even more danger.

3. Inglorious Basterds

This movie seems like an accurate representation of what everyone wanted to do to the Nazis back when they took control of Germany. With non-stop action and humor, this movie is definitely worthy of a watch.

Allied officer Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) brings together a group of Jewish soldiers willing to commit heinous crimes against the Nazis who control Germany. They soon team up with an actress named Bridget von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) and theatre owner Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent). Together they help each other commit crimes and kill high profile Nazis to avenge the people they love.

4. The American

It seems that every single assassin that tries to leave the killing game eventually ends up back in it. This is another incredible movie about a legendary assassin. Give this one a watch if you haven’t already.

Jack (George Clooney), an ex-assassin, attempts to disappear into the countryside of Italy after a failed assignment. However, Jack makes a fatal mistake. He becomes friends with a priest and develops feelings for a stunning woman named Clara (Violante Placido). In doing this, he steps out of hiding and ends up alerting the very people he is in hiding from as to where he resides.

5. John Wick

One of the most dangerous men to ever make it on film! You absolutely do not want to be on John Wick’s bad side! He kills anyone and everyone that gets in his way. If you haven’t seen the John Wick film, do so now! And if you like it, there is a second one! Also, a third one is on the horizon.

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) has managed to leave the killing game and retire with his beautiful wife. However, his wife dies and leaves John in mourning. Already in a fragile state, a group of gangsters pushes John over the edge when they steal his prized car and kill his dog. The gangsters have no idea of the beast that they have unleashed. Now, John has nothing but revenge on his mind and will go to extreme lengths to kill everyone that has wronged him.

6. The Hitman’s Bodyguard

This is probably the funniest movie on this list! It’s also packed with incredible action that will keep you entertained throughout the entire film. Give it a watch! It has Ryan Reynolds in it, so you know it’ll be good.

7. American Assassin

For the final of the best assassin movies on this list, we have American Assassin. This super badass movie will give you goosebumps when you see how skilled this guy becomes. Give it a watch, we highly recommend it!

After a group of terrorists killed his girlfriend while on vacation, Mitch has trained non-stop, transforming himself into a dangerous killer. Now, instead of just killing terrorists, Mitch must save the Middle East from a rogue agent who’s intent on starting a world war.
