The sport of wrestling has always managed to captivate millions of people. Both the WWE and professional Olympic wrestling. It’s an intense and gruesome sport which is why it’s so exhilarating to watch. This is what makes wrestling movies so incredible. Whether it be “fake” wrestling or the real deal, it’s still fun to watch. Maybe you are even a wrestler and just want some good wrestling movies to enjoy.

Kicking off our list of wrestling movies we have one that’s a bit darker than the rest. This one is loosely based on true events.

It isn’t completely accurate but there is some truth behind it. This movie really is a wild ride and if you haven’t seen it you should definitely give it a watch.

A wealthy man named John du Pont (Steve Carell) wants to start a wrestling team to compete at the 1988 Olympics. To start off he invites Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) to move to his estate and help him build the unstoppable team he wants. This finally gives Mark a chance to step out of his brother Dave’s (Mark Ruffalo) shadow.

However, John leads Mark, down a dark and dangerous path causing Mark’s self-esteem to take a sharp drop. To make matters worse, John wants to bring in Dave which inevitably causes the three of them to go down a tragic path that will change them forever.

This means that for the very first time, she must leave her friends and family behind and face this challenge by herself. This challenge forces Paige past her limits making her grow as a person just so she can prove that she has what it takes to become a star.

Randy Robinson (Mickey Rourke) also known as The Ram is past his prime as a pro wrestler. However, his love for being in the ring keeps him competing, no matter the cost. That is until he takes a worse than normal beating causing him to finally hang up his gear.

During this time Randy decides to try and reconnect with his daughter who he has neglected and not had time for, for some while. He also attempts to pursue a relationship with a stripper he has fallen in love with. Any progress he has made is threatened when he begins to ready himself to make a comeback as he can’t resist getting into the ring once again.

This movie will always have a special place in our hearts. Nacho Libre is one of the first movies to come to mind when you think of wrestling movies.

The movie doesn’t take itself too seriously which is what makes it so good. If you haven’t seen it give it a watch and if you have, then go ahead and watch it again!

Known as Nacho by his friends, Ignacio (Jack Black) has had a life long dream of becoming the world’s greatest wrestler. But he finds himself working as a cook in the Mexican monastery which he had grown up in. The monastery also serves as a home for orphans which Nacho has come to care for deeply and are like a family to him.

Due to money being scarce it’s hard to feed all the orphans properly. In order to raise money, Nacho decides to compete as a Lucha Libre wrestler with his friend and partner Esqueleto (Héctor Jiménez). However, the church has a rule against Lucha which forbids anything to do with it. Because of this Nacho must conceal his identity and lie to those closest to him.

Win Win Movie Description

Representing Leo Poplar (Burt Young), an older man with dementia, Mike Flaherty (Paul Giamatti) sees a way to finally take things easy and relax rather than continue to struggle as a lawyer. He decides to become Leo’s legal Guardian which also means he’ll gain control over Leo’s monthly paycheck.

However, a wrench is thrown into Mike’s plan when Leo’s grandson shows up without notice. That is until Mike figures out the boy is a champion wrestler. In turn, Mike decides to have him help out with the team he coaches.
